Meet up in Manuka!

Come along to our casual get-together at Public Bar Manuka on Friday 23rd June from 6pm, where you can befriend fellow delegates and committee members in a relaxed atmosphere. It is pay-your-own way, so food and drinks are available for purchase. Public Bar is located in the heart of the trendy Manuka precinct, just north of Manuka Oval. It is a 10-minute drive, 10-minute bus ride, or 40 minute walk from the National Library of Australia.

Come along to our librarian-themed film night at the iconic Arc Cinema in the National Film and Sound Archive to watch one of our finest librarian heroes on the silver screen in this classic film.

Mingle with your fellow delegates and NLS8 committee members over canapés offered from 6pm. Then grab your complimentary popcorn and choc top in time for the film screening, which begins at 7pm and finishes at approximately 9pm.

The archive is located at McCoy Circuit, Acton, approximately an 8-minute drive, 20 minutes bus ride or 30 minutes walk from the National Library of Australia. Conveniently, this places the archive a stone’s throw away from the bustling hub of New Acton where there are plenty of bars and restaurants open until midnight.

Farewell on the Foreshore!

Join the NLS8 committee on Sunday 25th June from 6pm for a post-symposium hot chocolate at Max Brenner Chocolate Bar on Kingston Foreshore. Stay inside with us and indulge your sweet tooth, or take your pick of the restaurants and bars along this buzzing new precinct, including local favourites The Dock and Walt & Burley. This is a pay your own way evening, and there’s no booking – it’s first come first served. Kingston Foreshore is an 8-minute drive, 20-minute bus ride or 30 minute walk from the National Library of Australia.
